Second Chance Sheltie Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that helps unwanted or abandoned Shelties.  Second Chance Sheltie Rescue does not have a shelter for the public to visit.  All dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers, therefore visits must be scheduled in advance. All Shelties are given necessary veterinary care, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and have their temperament evaluated.

All adoptive homes are carefully interviewed to ensure the best possible match between Sheltie and family.  *A SECURELY FENCED YARD IS A REQUIREMENT TO ADOPT.* Invisible fences are not considered secure fencing.  Tie-outs are not considered acceptable for use at any time.

Our Adoption Donation is $300 for dogs over 16 weeks, $400 for puppies under 16 weeks.  Adoption donations for senior Shelties vary depending on age. All dogs are spayed/neutered before adoption, brought up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given dentals if needed.

Important -- Please read our detailed information about the adoption process ADOPTION PROCEDURES before filling out an application!

To reach Second Chance Sheltie Rescue by phone:

888-873-5443 This is our voicemail system - its is not a live, manned telephone, please don't expect us to answer your call immediately.  Please leave a message identifying your name, location (city will be fine) and telephone number and the reason you are calling.   It's important to know what you are calling about so we can assign the return phone call to the correct person!  PLEASE speak slowly and clearly or we will be unable to return your call!   Those phone calls that do not have this information or do not leave a reason for calling will not be returned.   Have patience -- we are a very small group of volunteers - our offices are their homes!

Due to the heavy volume of email/phone messages and a small volunteer team, it may take a week for someone to respond to your requests. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Please call if you have an urgent request.

Our Mission is to provide care for Shelties in shelters, animal control, strays, and puppy mills.
